Tricia Clewett and
Donna Stewart are Directors and
joint owners of Clearer Thoughts Ltd.
the company they formed in 2000. Their combination of practical and
management experience has meant that they have built a company which has
succeeded in attracting repeat business from many of the North West’s most
significant companies and organisations.
Immediately prior to setting up the company, they
had worked together for five years as Managers of the Littlewoods Retail IS
Training Department. Here they were responsible for ascertaining and organising
the fulfilment of the training needs of over 600 IT specialists together with
approximately 2000 Head Office staff and many thousands more at company
locations nationwide.
Both have been education and training specialists
for their entire careers, working in a number of substantial corporate
companies. In 2005 they refreshed their training skills by taking a range of
training design and delivery courses at the excellent
Training Foundation. They
are ably supported by
Liz Hind.

Cathedral Concerts |
For a number of years we have sponsored concerts given by the
Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral
Concerts Society a local musical charity offering a broad
season of concerts of unusual repertoire.

Imagine |
For 2006 our charity was
Imagine Mental Health. Imagine is a leading mental health charity working
primarily in the north west of England, which has a positive approach to mental
health and works to promote opportunities for people to live a full and
independent life.

Tricia
Clewett
|
Tricia started her career in education as a teacher before moving into
commercial computer training in 1979. Working initially as a lecturer in Systems
Analysis on Government-sponsored courses in Liverpool, she later became a
lecturer at a local Tertiary College. In two separate periods working for
Littlewoods Retail she developed and delivered training in Systems Analysis,
Programming, JCL, database structure and design and personal development before
moving into management. In 1994 she completed a Master's degree in Education,
specialising in Management Development.
As Manager of the Littlewoods IS Training
function she handled an annual budget in excess of £600,000; ran a department of
8 training and administrative staff and liaised closely with external contract
companies involved in the supply of equipment and specialist training. Over a
long period, she was extensively involved in the recruitment of IT professionals
into the company, working mostly on the graduate recruitment programme. This
included testing and assessment of candidates, development of the assessment
centres and training of assessors. She has also had experience of dealing with
recruitment via agencies, including specification of need and first-pass
evaluation of candidates.

Donna Stewart |
Donna’s commercial career prior to Clearer
Thoughts took her from clerical to secretarial to training roles
whilst working variously for a subsidiary of Dutch Shell, Littlewoods Pools and
Littlewoods Retail. Her keen interest in technology led her to acquire a variety
of qualifications including the commercial teacher’s and IT Trainer’s
certificates. She developed and delivered training in Personal Development,
Customer Care, Team Leadership and Time Management alongside PC skills.

Latest staff
member Liz Hind joined Clearer Thoughts after finishing her Ph.D in Ancient
Egyptian Mathematics. Don't be too scared, though - she's very approachable! Liz
handles most of our administration and marketing as well as being a very capable
IT trainer.
