Democracy: voting is a must-have not a nice-to-have

Dear Reader

I’m writing on the eve of the most important event for democracy You live in a democracy, so VOTEin modern history in this country. My point is simple: please vote on Thursday. Of course I’d like it if you voted the same way I feel but I’m not going to politicise the point: voting is a necessity in a democracy . You must make your voice heard: people have fought and died to give you that right so the right becomes a responsibility. You cannot fail to be interested in the outcome: it will affect you either way. You cannot stand on the sidelines then complain if the vote goes against your opinion. Whatever that opinion is, register it. Vote. It’s far too important not to. For interesting and balanced information see our special edition home page.
