Happy Christmas from Clearer Thoughts

Posted by on December 4, 2014

Christmas time is here again

Call me an old softie but I love this time of year.

Not so keen on Christmas decorations in the shops in August and I confess I’d hate to work with Christmas carols on the music system for a whole month but once December has begun then, in my book, we’re legitimately into the Christmas season. I love deciding what to buy for friends and family, wrapping it all up, visiting to distribute largess and – yes, I admit it – eating mince pies and drinking sherry. (Drat! I knew there had to be a reason for that expanding waistline.)

I know it also disrupts our sensible business schedules, wastes untold man-hours, bumps up our postage bills and plays havoc with normal budgets – but who says that’s a bad thing? Too much common sense gets perilously close to boring. Too much safety is only a hair’s breadth away from being stifled. Too much budgeting feels awfully close to cheese-paring.

So – no matter what your religious beliefs –  here’s to a little Yuletide jollity; to warmth and light in the winter darkness; to cakes and ale; to generosity and a little touch of chaos. Above all, here’s to friendship and the common good.

We’ve enjoyed doing business with you in 2014 and we look forward to fresh starts in 2015. In the meantime, we wish you a very Happy Christmas and all good wishes for the new year.
