ORGANISATIONAL EXCELLENCE

An Excellent Organisation is like a tree which draws its strength from its values and culture

Organisational Excellence

What is Organisational Excellence?

We use this term to describe the range of courses and activities which help to ensure that your business/organisation runs as smoothly as possible.

They are designed to:

  • Help you avoid contentious areas which can lead to disruption
  • Keep you out of tribunals
  • Help prevent legal action against you

Why should you invest in an Organisational Excellence programme?

  • You need excellent staff to help develop your business
  • You want to attract excellent staff by treating them well
  • You want to impress potential clients with your credentials
  • You must conform to the law
  • You may need to protect yourself against staff disputes

In addition to consultancy to review your current practices, policies and procedures we offer an ever-increasing list of stimulating, interactive training programmes, including:

  • Data Protection and Retention
  • Breaches of the Data Protection Act can lead to maximum fines of £500k. By 2018 that maximum will have risen to €20m.
It is not unusual for staff to have no idea who their data controller is or what the details of their registration allow them to do or not do.
We work with your policies and procedures to ensure that the dry detail of the law becomes a living part of your staff’s day-to-day routines.
Whilst there is no single law governing Data Retention in the same way, a myriad of different regulations make it important for you to identify what you should be doing with data under your control.

We offer an Overview seminar and two 1-day courses; one each for managers and for staff.

    Conflict Management

Working in conjunction with the Dignity at Work programme, and normally run before it, this programme is designed for supervisors and managers to help them ensure that their staff work effectively together, avoiding conflict where possible but facing up to it and dealing with it where necessary.

This programme is designed for staff members to help them see the importance of working well with their colleagues to ensure that all enjoy dignity at work, free from discrimination. Effectively applied, when this programme is delivered across an organisation it can help protect the employer from charges of discrimination, causing stress and other costly issues. It is often run in conjunction with the Conflict Management programme.

With maximum fines standing at almost £70k and average settlements – given to avoid high tribunal costs – of over £5k you can’t afford to get taken to tribunal by disgruntled staff. Recent changes to the law (2013) may mean that you should review your policies and procedures.
This programme, designed for supervisory, management or union staff as required, makes sure that staff know how to behave according to the law and to your policies and procedures, reducing problems and improving productivity and effectiveness.

We may not hear much about RSI these days, but it’s not because it’s gone away: more that it is now accepted as a genuine medical condition. In fact, so much so that around 2,500 claims are made each year, leading to insurance payments of about £3m every year, according to TUC research.
It doesn’t have to be that way. With proper training and practice, staff can learn not only the correct posture to adopt but also safe, accurate and fast keyboard usage. This has twin advantages: greater speed and accuracy of input alongside reduced likelihood of suing the employer.

In all these programmes we take an interactive approach, including a variety of exercise types and role plays, to encourage delegates to consider their own roles and responsibilities within the relevant framework.
